Hilltop First School and Foundation Stage

Art

Key stage 1 abstract paintings

Art topics are covered during dedicated weeks in alternating half terms.  All afternoon lessons are used for activities linked to a mini project around an area of study.  Both key stage will look at similar topics or areas of study concurrently so that progression can be observed.  Pupils in KS2 are encouraged to reflect on their learning experiences in key stage 1 and recognise how the new learning builds on what they have previously done.

We are still developing our two year curriculum cycle.
